The Lakeside Civic Chorus has plenty to sing about! Founded in 1984, the
Lakeside Civic Chorus (LCC) is a performing auditioned chorus known for
its beautiful tone and expressive singing. Under the direction of David
Bush and accompanied by Ken Frerichs, the chorus is comprised of
volunteer, diverse singers who share a genuine affection for singing,
performing and giving to the community. The chorus is dedicated to
excellence and expressiveness in the study and performance of choral
works of all periods. The chorus performs a variety of choral music each
fall and spring accompanied by an orchestra and also assists with
furthering music education by offering scholarships to area graduating
high school seniors.
The chorus’ annual Christmas concerts feature traditional sacred
Christmas carols and compositions, and the spring concerts are comprised
of secular music. The chorus' performances have featured such major
works as the Vivaldi Gloria, Rutter Gloria, Rutter Magnificat, Rutter
Requiem, Faure Requiem and the Bach Wachet Auf Cantata.
This spring, the chorus will perform selected works from Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart.
